Degree of a Polynomial
If p (x) is a polynomial in x, the highest power of x in p(x) is called the degree of the polynomial.
For example 5x - 11 is a polynomial of degree 1
3x^2 + 1 is a polynomial of degree 2
It is a polynomial of degree 1
It is a polynomial of degree 2
General form of a Linear Polynomial in one variable
ax + b where a and b are real numbers and a is not equal to 0
General form of a quadratic Polynomial in one variable
ax^2 + bx + c where a, b and c are real numbers and a is not equal to 0
Zero of a Polynomial
A real number s is said to be zero of a polynomial p(x) if P(s) = 0
Maximum number of Zeros
A polynomial of degree n can have maximum n zeros.
